A 90-day guided journal
Most manifesting stops at the dream. This 90-day journal adds the part that makes it happen.
The problem
In a study published in 1991, psychologists followed women starting a year-long weight-loss program. The women who expected to succeed lost more weight. But the women with the rosiest daydreams lost less weight than women whose fantasies included a few doubts and stumbles.
Dreaming on its own is linked to less effort and worse results. A dream followed by the obstacle and a concrete plan is a well-tested way to turn a wish into action.
Keep the dream. Add the obstacle, the plan, the rehearsal, and the proof.
The NOW Method
Choose one wish and see it in vivid, present-tense detail.
Find what in you could stop it, and picture it clearly.
Plan for it, rehearse it, take one step, and collect the proof.
The order matters. Research on mental contrasting found that dreaming first and facing the obstacle second is what builds commitment.

The science
2×
Women who pictured their goal, named the obstacle and made an if-then plan were about twice as physically active over the next four months as women who got health information alone.
60%
High-school students who used the same two steps completed 60% more practice questions for a big exam.
94
A review of 94 tests found that if-then plans had a medium-to-large effect on reaching goals.
All 17 studies are cited in the back of the journal.
People who love manifesting and want results.
Skeptics who want a plan.
Anyone looking for a shortcut.

No. If you do, nothing here asks you to stop. If you’re a skeptic, nothing here asks you to start. The method works through what you notice, what you choose and what you do.
About five minutes a day: three in the morning, two at night. Plus a one-hour setup at the start and a 15-minute review each week.
No. The days are numbered, not dated, so you can start any day of the week.
Everyone does. Skip the guilt and the catch-up, turn to the next page and keep going. The one rule: never miss two days in a row.
